I’m giving away the flu to the person that sends me the most interesting project proposal. Will that person be you? Not if you don’t contact me by 5 PM EST tonight. Tick tock, you moochers.

No thanks, I already have a bout of IBS so I’m good.

I already have the flu, it wouldn’t be fair to double up.

1991 Buick Roadmaster with 2 rear-mounted VW 2.5L I5 engines, fitted with turbos, sending their power to the rear wheels and 2 electric motors powering the front wheels, drawing their power from an on-board turbine generator spun by a propane pulsejet.

I’m liking this, not because you are sick, but because you are smart.

Well, lets not get carried away there. I mean, you’ve seen my garage...

Smarts and impulse control are two entirely different things. I mean there’s Newton and then there’s Liebniz...

I was tempted to suggest a project of putting the drivetrain in my 924, but in reverse. Then I'd have a VW 911. And the engine could be under the big glass hatch.

Flu successfully received. Thanks.

I already got that from my kids, not sure it’ll work this time. BUT... I propose my VW Vanagon with a 930 engine, and enough power to lift the front wheels. Yes? Yes.

Update - I actually submitted my idea. He will probably pick something a bit more outrageous than a mid-rear or rear-rear 924, though.

If I were to “win” that car, I would eco-mod it and try to get the best MPG on Fuelly.

2 rear-mounted VW 2.5L I5 engines
Isn’t this a Lambo V10? I think you should call it that.

You kidding? I doubt he received anything interesting.

Don’t think so.

There’s always a guy who will put an LS in it or put it on a lifted truck chassis. I would be a lot more meticulous than that guy, especially since I will essentially be putting an engine inside the interior. Carbon monoxide is a bitch.

Slapping a body on a truck chassis is much simpler than your suggestion. :)

Oh yeah. I already have most of it mapped out in my head. How hard can it be? (Really hard, is the answer to that one)

That was a joke.
The 2.5 has the same bore, same stroke, and same head as the Gallardo V10. But also has low compression and warranty-friendly tuning.

Send flu samples to:

I’m finding.... Ummm... a cure. That’s it. Thanks for your assistance, you’ll be sent an unmarked vial in 4-6 weeks. When you hear of a strange illness going around, take it.

Wait, so how does this end up at 2.5L and iirc the Lambo V10 is a 5.2? Wouldn’t it be a 5.0L?

The 2.5 was designed during the 1st gen Gallardo, which was 5.0 with the 82.5mm bore. They bumped it to 84.5 for the 5.2l 2nd gen.
